If there is one thing that we can rely on, it is that our romance readers will provide us with a consistently high number of reviews of books for the challenge, and May was no exception. It is always interesting to see the number of different authors that are read too.

outback-blaze-johns

This month there was one clear winner in terms of the number of times that a book was reviewed and that was Outback Blaze by Rachel Johns which was reviewed five times in May. Of course, it is all very well to be reviewed numerous times. It is much better to be well reviewed. Luckily, that is definitely the case in this book.

Bree from All the Books I Can Read summarises her feelings on the book by saying

Rachael Johns is fast becoming one of Australia’s most popular authors and with each release she justifies why – realistic, relatable characters, small towns with a great feel and storylines that keep the reader hooked and always wanting her next book. Waiting sucks!

Shelleyrae from Book’d Out is also looking forward to the next book, a sentiment echoed by Ceri from A Book Beyond

Outback Blaze was a great read, definitely my favourite Rachael Johns book so far, her books just seem to be getting better and better. I am now eagerly awaiting the release of her next book, Outback Ghost!

lord-somertons-heir-stuart

There were also a couple of other books that were reviewed multiple times for the challenge this month including Lord Somerton’s Heir by Alison Stuart. Helena from Love Reading Romance describes it as a ” heartfelt historical romance” in her review and summarises by saying:

Lord Somerton’s Heir is a heartfelt historical romance, which combines heartbreak and mystery, with friendship and just enough seduction.

whilst Cecilia Clark at Goodreads says

From a harsh and difficult relationship to love and forgiveness, this story is a delightful romance.

four-leaf-clover-ross

IF you like to combine your romance with delicious sounding food then maybe Four Leaf Clover by Charmaine Ross which was reviewed by both Shelleyrae from Book’d Out and at Sam Still Reading, who said

The romance is sweet with some more steamy parts, but not to be overlooked is the friendship and generosity that Liam and Clover both display. Ross has created some characters that are truly good people.

lick-scott

One author who had two books reviewed this month, but this time the first two books in the Stage Dive series was Kylie Scott. Kat at Book Thingo reviewed Lick, the first book in the series, and says:

Kylie Scott is one of Australia’s rising stars in romance fiction, and her flair for witty dialogue, complex but charming characters, and dirty, messy, fun sex is a delight to read. This series is definitely an autobuy.

PlayKylieScott

Whilst Kaetrin at Kaetrin’s Musings says of the second book, Play

Apart from the bit where I was crying, I basically had a smile on my face the entire time I was reading and there were many laugh out loud moments for me.  It was a real feel good book with some serious moments which were neither overplayed nor underdone.  I loved it.

I’ll be back next month with more highlights from the romance, romantic suspense and erotica genres.

As always you can find more of the romance reviews at any time by clicking on the Weebly pages where new reviews are always being added.
