I trust that the April 2020 round up for Erotica, Romance and Romantic Suspense finds you well. I have been bunkering down during the isolation period with plenty of good books. Our romance readers have put in a very fine innings this month. We saw an increase in the number of romance reviews linked to the site in April. I know from my own distracted mind of late that putting pen to paper to compose a review hasn’t come easy. So I thank you all for your efforts.

Our official results for April 2020 display 43 reviews, of 31 books, of 27 authors.

It has been awhile since we have seen one book completely dominate the romance stats. Something to Talk About by Rachael Johns is the most popular romance novel this month. I can’t wait to delve into this one, the reviews are very enticing. Thanks to Brenda, Mic Loves Books, Claire’s Reads & Reviews, Book’d Out and Helen Sibbritt for their sensational reviews. A bonus extra, in the form of an interview with Rachael Johns to celebrate the release of Something to Talk About comes from Mic Loves Books.

Congratulations extended to much loved Australian rural romance storyteller Karly Lane, who has just released her latest novel, Fool Me Once, which is already proving popular. There are three entries for this one, courtesy of an author insight from Theresa Smith Writes, a review from Mic Loves Books, along with an accompanying interview feature from Mic Loves Books.

It was great to see Fleur McDonald’s name pop up again this month, thanks to her new rural suspense release, Red Dirt Country. Fleur’s new book was standout choice this month. There were three reviews for Red Dirt Country registered in April from Mic Loves Books, Brenda, and Book’d Out.

Another book that continues to appeal to our romance readers is Minnie Darke’s The Lost Love Song. Two glowing reviews came through this month from The Adventures of an Intrepid Reader and Jennifer Cameron-Smith.

Australian Romance Readers Awards winner Amy Andrews featured twice in our April results with two different titles. Helen Sibbritt reviewed Asking For Trouble and Undercover Billionaire.

Another double entry romance author this month is Annie Seaton. We have five star reviews for Pippa, which is book one in the Pentecost Island series and Eliza, which represents book two in the same series.

We welcome back Fiona McArthur’s Midwife in the Jungle for a second month running. This was another title that was reviewed twice, thanks to Sharon Hill and Claire’s Reads & Reviews.

I was introduced to the writing of Sandy Barker last year, so it was great to see a new novel penned by this author appear in my romance feed. A Keyboard and an Open Mind covered That Night in Paris. I’m definitely adding this one to my TBR!

I’m currently reading Summer at Urchin’s Bluff by Eliza Bennetts, so it was a thrill to see a brand new release by Eliza Bennetts in the round up process. Claire’s Reads & Reviews enjoyed You, Me, Us.

West Australian based author Rebecca Raisin presents another wonderful contemporary romance title with Aria’s Travelling Book Shop. Thanks to Claire’s Reads & Reviews for this recommendation.

Finally, an author who never disappoints in the romance department is Cathryn Hein. Scarlett and the Model Man made its mark on Helen Sibbritt. I think I will add this one to my wishlist!

I think we should be proud of the volume of romance books that have been linked to the site this month, it really is a great result. Hooray for romance! Until we meet again next month, stay safe and happy reading. Mrs B.
