With winter just around the corner, a good romance book or two is exactly what you need to get you through the cold season. I hope you can find your next read thanks to the helpful reviews that have come through our site over this round up period.

Our official count for Romance in May reveals 29 reviews, of 21 books, of 19 authors.

Similar to last month, where Something to Talk About by Rachael Johns ruled the romance stats, we again have one book that reigned supreme in May. When Grace Went Away by Meredith Appleyard is by far the most popular romance novel this month with six reviews. Thanks to Jennifer Cameron-Smith, Brenda, Helen Sibbritt, Mrs B’s Book Reviews, Claire’s Reads and Reviews and Denise Newton Writes for their generous reviews.

Rural romance queen Karly Lane continues to win her readers over for another month running with her latest release, Fool Me Once. Another four entries were added to our records via Brenda, Book’d Out, The Burgeoning Bookshelf and Mrs B’s Book Reviews.

I was pleased to see a pre-release review come in for Bottlebrush Creek by Maya Linnell from Helen Sibbritt. Following on from the success of her debut novel Wildflower Ridge, Maya Linnell returns with a fabulous new release that I know is bound to be a hit with rural romance fans.

Australian Romance Readers Awards romantic suspense winner Juanita Kees features in our May results with her new title Montana Son which is book three in the Calhouns of Montana series. Claire’s Reads and Reviews enjoyed reading the latest issue in this series, which is Mason Calhoun’s story.

Annie Seaton’s Pentecost Island series has made quite the impression on our romance readers. This month we have an entry for Nell, which is book three in the series. Thanks Helen Sibbritt for this suggestion.

Renee Dahlia is a familiar face in the romance category. It was nice to see Renee’s name pop up again in the round up process thanks to her new title, Racetrack Royalty. Claire’s Reads and Reviews loved book four in this rural romance series.

It is always nice to see a dash of historical romance, what escapism this sub genre provides! If you haven’t discovered the work of Sasha Cottman, it is well worth looking into her historical romance collection. Helen Sibbritt recommends The Duke’s Daughter.

Susanne Bellamy’s late March release, Home From the Hill was a hit with Claire’s Reads and Reviews. This one is highly recommended to romantic suspense fans.

Finally, self published author Suzanne Cass recently added to her island Bound series with Bound by the Stars, which was thoroughly enjoyed by Claire’s Reads and Reviews. It sounds like a great series to get stuck into!
