It was a fairly quiet July according to our monthly stats intake, but there is still a great selection of romance reads to consider adding to your reading lists. My thanks to all those lovely readers that linked a romance entry to the challenge over the month, it is always appreciated and I genuinely enjoy reading through your recommendations.

Contemporary Romance

Chasing Gabby: Stolen Hearts Book 3 by Rania Battany (1 Review)

I have been looking forward to Gabby’s story so much, with the first two books in this series so emotionally charged I had a feeling that Gabby and Charlie’s story was going to be of the charts emotional and I wasn’t wrong wow what a story, these two have a battle to find the happiness they deserve, I hope you come along for the journey.

Romantic Suspense

Croc Country by Kerry McGinnis (4 Reviews)

Rural fiction, be it crime or romantic suspense, is not my usual area of interest when it comes to reading, despite living in the Outback myself, however, this one caught my eye for a couple of reasons. First, the setting is up in the Gulf, in a Wildlife Sanctuary, rather than in the outback or in a small town. Second, the title of Croc Country accompanied by the publicity tag on the front cover: ‘Far greater dangers than drowning lurk in these muddy waters.’ This reeled me in.

Turn back the clock to the 1870s and step into the shoes of Adelaide Greaves, the strong, determined and steadfast heroine of Alison Stuart’s The Postmistress. Literary Romance

The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams (3 Reviews)

This story is set within some major world events including the women’s suffrage movement and World War One, which each affects Esme’s life in irreversible ways. Her personal story is told through the lens of these larger-scale events, and her relationships, friendships, loves and bonds are woven throughout the significant moments of the century.
This is a beautifully written, lyrical, tender and engaging read about one young woman’s life; the challenges and obstacles she faces, and the ambitions and hopes she nourishes.

Past Pleasure

Not Meeting Mr Right by Anita Heiss (1 Review)

These days, Alice, probably shapelier and prettier than her former schoolmates, doing well as a senior teacher, is made to feel inadequate in another way. All the others are flashing engagement and wedding rings, the talk is all weddings and babies (It doesn’t help that Alice’s mother is applying the same pressure). Of course Alice “loves being single”, but by the end of the night she has decided that she will find and marry Mr Right before she turns 30.
