As we move swiftly towards summer holidays and the Christmas season there are a great selection romance books that have been added to our AWW database by our well-read romance enthusiasts this past month. Our November stats tally in at 27 reviews of 20 books, of 18 authors. November was clearly another fine month for the romance department!

Misty (Lyrebird Lake #2) by Fiona McArthur (2 Reviews)
Misty is the 2nd in the Lyrebird Lake series by Aussie author Fiona McArthur, following on from Montana. I enjoyed this one, as I passed through areas I know around Coffs Harbour in New South Wales. It was nice to catch up with Montana and Andy again, as well as other characters I’d met in Montana. I’m looking forward to the next, about Mia’s introduction into Lyrebird Lake, then #4 which is Emma’s story. Misty is a great character; calm, serene in circumstances others wouldn’t be. Recommended.

Back to Blue Gum Flat by Aussie author Tea Cooper was a delightful and fun novella to read and I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who is looking for their next read.

This was a really enjoyable series and it flowed seamlessly from one book to the next. The three writers have done a great job collaborating with each other to achieve this.
Historical Romance
The Christmas Bride by Anna Gracie (1 Review)
I loved this story so much, there were happy tears as the emotions flowed and catching up with Max and Abby, Freddie and Damaris, Jane and Daisy and of course Lady Beatrice was just so very good all of these characters as well as Ash’s partners have become friends and it is Christmas I do love a Christmas story. This is a story that I highly recommend I never miss an Anne Gracie story they are heartwarming, beautiful and must reads.
Sport in Romance
The Final Siren by Nicki Edwards (1 Review)
The Final Siren is the 1st in the Off The Field series by Aussie author Nicki Edwards and I thoroughly enjoyed it! It didn’t hurt that I’m a Geelong Cats supporter either 😊 I found Jed and Georgie both credible characters, with the family situations and the obviously caring natures of both MCs giving the story more honesty and integrity. The Final Siren is a story of truth, angst, loyalty and the search for happiness. Highly recommended.
Medical Romance
Emergency Response by Nicki Edwards (1 Review)
Emergency Response is the second book in the Escape to the Country series by Aussie author Nicki Edwards. I am thoroughly enjoying this series with beautiful descriptions throughout the book and characters who’ll you’ll enjoy and some who’ll you’ll find a bit annoying all of which makes a great read.
Fantasy in Romance
The Shattered Court by M.J. Scott (1 Review)
Fabulous start to this fantasy series where court intrigue, politics, magic and desire collide. I enjoyed the story of a royal witch has no control over her destiny. I enjoyed it more the more I read, devouring the last half quickly.
Diversity in Romance
The Morbids by Ewa Ramsey (1 Review)
The Morbids (Allen and Unwin 2020) by Ewa Ramsey is, on a superficial level, a story about two female friends, love and romance, a typical 20-something tale of getting by and finding your place in the world. But anyone who reads this book will gradually realise that underneath that levity, there is a deeply thought out, carefully crafted and nuanced story about mental illness, relationship dynamics, self-esteem and self-identity, with an underlying profound philosophical exploration of grief, death, fear and loss.
Past Pleasure
 Dance in the Outback by S.E. Gilchrist (1 Review)
Dance in the Outback is the first book I’ve read by Aussie author S.E Gilchrist and I must say I rather enjoyed it and I will be reading more of her books in the future. This was a delightful rural romance with likeable characters and a setting you could easily imagine.
