Sign up

awwbadge_2013Who can sign up for the Australian Women Writers 2013 challenge? Everyone: male, female, reader, writer, teacher, librarian, bookseller, publisher, Australian and non-Australian.

Whether you decide to read and review, or read only, please fill in the Google form below.

Participants who have a blog or belong to GoodReads are encouraged to write a “sign up” post detailing your goals for the year. This may include a list of books you plan to read or the number and/or type of books you’re interested in reading. Add the link to your sign-up post in the form below.

If you have a blog, please display the AWW 2013 “badge” (above right) on the sidebar of your blog, with a link back to this page. You can download the badge by right-clicking on the image and saving to your hard-drive before uploading to your site.

Whether you’re reading and reviewing, or reading only, there are a number of ways you can participate in the challenge. Share your reading and/or reviews:

    • on Twitter using the #aww2013 hashtag and by pinging @auswomenwriters for retweeting
    • on the AWW pages on Google+, Facebook and in the AWW group in GoodReads

You can also join in, whether or not you’re formally signed up, by visiting and commenting on people’s review pages and blogs. You’ll find lists of books reviewed both for 2012 and 2013 on the AWW Review Listings page.

Once you’ve signed up, you should see your name, along with the names of other participants, here. (You’ll need to scroll down.) When you’ve written a review, add your link here. For essays, articles and interviews or other non-review AWW-related posts, you can add links here.

  1. Not sure I signed up correctly. Did I hit all the right buttons.

    • Hi Marilyn. Did you press “submit”? The form doesn’t appear to have recorded your sign-up. If all it working as it should, your name should automatically appear on the database of challenge participants and it’s not there. Try again, and let me know if there’s a problem.

  2. I was wondering if re-reads were acceptable for this challenge.

    • Hi Jessie, Sorry for the delay replying. Re-reads are acceptable – especially if accompanied by a review.

      • It’s no problem, thank you for the reply though! And thanks, there are a few books I’m hoping to reread (and one I know I will reread) that I haven’t reviewed yet, so I’m going to try to do that.

Sorry, forgot to specify what my challenge is: I plan to read at least 10 books and review at least 6 books by Indigenous authors in 2013.

    • Hi Mindy, thanks for joining up. I’ve changed the spreadsheet to reflect your choice. (And you’ve reminded me that I need to put up a list of Indigenous authors.) Good luck with the challenge. I look forward to seeing your reviews.

    Hey,
I just signed up for the challenge and my name has appeared at the bottom of the sign up list, but I clicked mixed for what I wanted to read for the challenge, and for some reason its listed three genres as what I’ll be reading. Does this matter? Is there anyway to change it?

  7. I’ve accidentally signed up twice because my computer hiccuped the first time. Can the first one be deleted? I’ll go for the 10! (Haven’t decided on specific reads yet.)
